As a passionate journalist and storyteller, I bring decades of common sense, reporting, and interviewing skills to my coverage of coastal issues and the environment, travel (especially sustainable), food, agriculture, and design for regional, national, and international publications. This means I research, report, and write everything from short front-of-book business profiles to deep, zeitgeisty features with a dozen sources. The people and solutions driving these industries are my soft spot, so I seek out these topics whenever I can!

My writing work also includes content marketing, and I write articles for universities to amplify student voices and research.

As a contributing and managing editor, I also curate stories and work with freelancers to craft a special section that targets a brand’s style; and parachute into an editorial team to manage production and deadlines during a lengthy staff absence.

I also curate newsletters, blogs, white papers, and reports for nonprofits, hospitals, and organizations who seek authentic storytelling with a journalistic approach.

Let’s talk books! I published my first non-fiction book a decade ago, and now I’m working on my first novel. Armed with that publishing knowledge, I help authors maintain their style and consistency, and guide them along their book journey.

Throughout this process, mentoring and sharing my knowledge is incredibly important to me, as are my relationships. So I also advise mission-driven small businesses, startups, and solopreneurs on their messaging strategy and how to navigate the media landscape, so that they can get their story featured in print or online.
