Let’s Meet!
I’m a writer, editor, and author in Newport, Rhode Island. My family has lived here for 12 generations (literally since Newport was founded!), and I was the fourth generation to manage my family’s publishing business as editor of its magazine division. I also have family in New Zealand, and explore with them every chance I get!
I contribute to publications around New England and the country, and am known as an instinctive, thoughtful, and approachable writer. Journalism to me is all about the narrative that connects readers to a story, so I work hard to weave humanity together with reporting and data.
I’m supremely lucky to have grown up on the coast (RI is the Ocean State after all!). So I’m most at home when barefoot by the sea, though I’m pretty comfy skiing a mountain, tinkering in the garden, or hiking in the woods, too! I’ve spent the night on an aircraft carrier, tracked alewives to their summer nesting grounds, and swam with dolphins in New Zealand for a story. This exposure to the outdoors inspires my journalism, and fosters the current of inclusive, solutions-focused storytelling that flows through my work.
I authored “Legendary Locals of Newport” and I’m currently writing my next book — an environmental adventure series for kids.
